Chapter 6: Weathering, Erosion, and Deposition

In this assignment, we will consider place-based natural hazards using remotely sensed data.

Outcomes and Objectives

Analyze the physical processes that shape the patterns of Earth’s surface.

  • Objective 4.4: Compare the internal and external structures of Earth that determine the planet’s various landforms.

Compare the characteristics and spatial distribution of lithospheric systems (i.e., plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes, weathering, mass movement, river systems, and landforms).

  • Objective 5.15: Identify the factors and triggers of various types of mass wasting.
  • Objective 5.16: Classify the various types of mass wasting.
  • Objective 5.17: Compare the types of erosion and deposition and their influence on the landscape.
